Objective: To study the miR-21, -122 and -222 contents in serum and tissues of patients withrenal carcinoma and explore their potential target genes. Methods: A total of 54 cases ofpatients who were diagnosed with renal carcinoma and received surgical resection in ShenzhenSecond People's Hospital between May 2014 and December 2016 and 70 healthy volunteerswho received physical examination during the same period were selected as the renalcarcinoma group and control group respectively. Then serum samples, renal carcinoma tissuesand paracancerous tissues were collected. The expression levels of miR-21, -122 and -222 inserum, renal carcinoma tissues, paracancerous tissues as well as the expression levels of tumorsuppressor genes and invasion suppressor genes in renal carcinoma tissues and paracanceroustissues were determined. Results: Serum miR-21, -122 and -222 expression of renalcarcinoma group were significantly higher than those of control group; miR-21, -122 and -222expression in renal carcinoma tissues were significantly higher than those in paracanceroustissues while PDCD4, BTG1, NPRL2, Bax, TIMP1, TIMP2 and E-cadherin expression werelower than those in paracancerous tissues. miR-21, -122 and -222 expression were negativelycorrelated with PDCD4, BTG1, NPRL2, Bax, TIMP1, TIMP2 and E-cadherin expression.Conclusion: High expression of miR-21, -122 and -222 in serum and tissues of patients withrenal carcinoma can inhibit the expression of a variety of tumor suppressor genes and invasionsuppressor genes so as to promote the proliferation and invasion of renal carcinoma cells.
