Glandular odontogenic cyst (GOC) is a rare and aggressivedevelopmental odontogenic cyst with a strong predilectionfor the anterior region of the jaws. This report presented acase of GOC in the anterior region of the mandible. This 62-year-old female patient visited the oral andmaxillofacial surgery department of our hospital for treat-ment of a mucoepidermoid carcinoma in the anteriormandible, which was confirmed histopathologically inanother hospital. Oral examination showed no definiteswelling of the anterior mandible (Fig. 1A), but mobility ofteeth 31, 41, 42, and 43 and percussion pain of tooth 42were noted. Panoramic and periapical radiographs revealeda multilocular radiolucent lesion at the anterior mandibularregion from tooth 31 to tooth 44 (Fig. 1B and C). Becausethe initial biopsy of the lesion showed a mucoepidermoidcarcinoma, marginal mandibulectomy from tooth 31 totooth 45 was performed to remove the tumor. Histopatho-logical examination of the specimen showed a cystic lesionlined by non-keratinized stratified squamous epithelium ofvarying thickness and papillary surface. Mucin-secretingcells and microcysts were discovered in the lining epithe-lium (Fig. 1D). Moreover, small satellite cysts with mucouscells and microcysts in the lining epithelium and a row ofeosinophilic cuboidal cells on the lining epithelial surfacewere found in the fibrous cystic wall (Fig. 1E and F).
