Laryngocele is an abnormal dilatation of the laryngeal ventricular saccule that may extend into the subcutane -ous tissues of the neck through the thyrohyoid membrane or confined to the endolarynx. The etiology is still unclear. Many laryngoceles are asymptomatic. An asymptomatic laryngocele appears and produces symptoms only as it enlarges or when it becomes infected.
