Web winding systems allow the operations of unwindingand rewinding of various products including plasticfilms, sheets of paper, sheets, and fabrics. These operationsare necessary for the development and the treatmentof these products. Web winding systems generallyconsist of the same machine elements in spite of the diversityof the transported products. Due to the wide rangvariation of the radius and inertia of the rollers the systemdynamic change considerably during the winding/unwinding process. Decentralized PI controller for webtension control and linear speed control are presented inthis paper. The PI control method can be applied easilyand is widely known, it has an important place in controlapplications. Simulation results show the effectiveness ofthe proposed linear speed and tension controller for webwinding multi motors systems.
