Pneumonia in a rat

A 1-year old, male castrated albinopet rat presented with acute-onsetdyspnoea, lethargy and anorexia.Despite treatment with enrofloxacineand meloxicam, the animal died 2 dayslater. Three weeks later, a similar casewas observed in the same population ofrats. During autopsy, mainly lesions onthe lungs were prominent (Fig. 1).
