A case of isolated candidal fungal balls in thecommon bile duct causing obstructive jaundice andcholangitis is described. There were no predisposingfactors. The fungal balls were removed from thecommon bile duct and a transduodenal sphincteroplastywas performed.Microscopic analysis yieldedcolonies of candida. Postoperative period was uneventful.At follow-up no evidence of candidainfection was evident.He is now 3 years post-surgeryand is well.
