Femoroacetabular Impingement

Hip and groin pain has, for many years, been a difficult diagnostic challenge. In the past decade there has beenincreased focus on femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) as a cause. FAI is now considered by many as a primary cause ofhip joint degeneration. Our appreciation and understanding of FAI is currently increasing at an exponential rate. In thispaper we review FAI as a pathology and review the current practice for diagnosis and treatment.
