In this issue of the Journal of Graduate Medical Education , we publish an erratum that corrects the list of authors for an article that appeared in the September 2010 issue of the Journal .~(1) According to the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors' (ICMJE) requirements, an author is someone who has made substantive intellectual contributions to a published study.~(2) An author must take responsibility for at least one component of the work, should be able to identify who is responsible for each other component, and should ideally be confident in their co-authors' ability and integrity. ~(2).
