THE manuscript, Cotton Nero A. I, has beenreproduced in facsimile edition entitled: AWulfstan Manuscript containing Institutes,Laws and Homilies: British Museum CottonNero A. I, recognizing its importance to Anglo-Saxonists, and, by caption, indicating itsassociations, and designating some of theliterary production in Latin of Wulfstan andhis aides. Wulfstan was an influential andresponsible prelate. Bishop of London by 996,advanced to the see of Worcester and theArchbishopric of York in 1002, adviser tosuccessive Kings of England, Ethelred andCnut, and probably best known to students asauthor of the 'Sermo Lupi ad Anglos', anemotive castigation of the supine English inface of the invading Scandinavians.
