New Spectrophotometric Methods for the Simultaneous Determination of Irbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide in Combined Dosage Forms

The combination of Irbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazideis mainly used forthe treatment of hypertension. New spectrophotometric methods havebeen developed and validated for the simultaneous determination ofIrbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide in pharmaceutical formulations (Tablets)by two methods i.e. simultaneous equation method and absorbance ratiomethod (Q‐analysis) in phosphate buffer (pH 7.5). Irbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazidehave shown linearity over the concentration range 5-35 μg/mland 0.2-40 μg/ml in both the methods.
