Application of the time-delay integration method: Survey observations of geosynchronous orbit objects and short-term variability observations

a€?Time-DelayIntegration(TDI)a€?readouttechniquehasbeenadoptedtoamosaicCCDcameraequippedwithfourfully-depletedCCDs.OpticaldistortionandimagedeformationduetotheTDIoperationarediscussed.ThemannerandadvantagesoftheTDImethodinsurveyobservationsofgeosynchronousorbitobjectsaresummarized.WeproposeanewTDIapplicationmethodofgettingshort-termlightcurvesofartificialspaceobjects.Thismethodofdetectingashort-termvariabilitycanbeappliedforavarietyofobjects,rangingfromsatellitestostars.Itcanalsobeusedforthelight-curveobservationsoftransientobjectswhichmightshowshort-termvariabilityandofwhichtheprecisetimeinformationisneeded.
