Marin Dr?i? and His Characters in the Everyday Life of Renaissance Dubrovnik This paper aims to shift the focus of attention from Dr?i?’s ? ctional world to the playwright’s experience and reality, but also his living models viewed from the perspective of the history of everyday life traced in the archival documents of the Dubrovnik Republic, ?led at the State Archives in Dubrovnik. The presence of Dr?i? and his characters in archival sources con? rms the literary signi? cance of the historical documents, offering yet another interpretation of Dr?i?’s literary work.
