Plantes butinées par les abeilles à la péninsule de l’Edough (Nord-Est algérien)

In order to know the main species of melliferous plants on the Edough peninsula (Northeast Algeria), we carried out an inventory of the vascular plants whose flowers were forested by bees (Apis mellifera L.). This study showed the existence of a diversified flora (107 species of forests on 582 species in bloom), composed mainly of spontaneous plants (92) and also of cultivated plants (7 fruit trees and 8 vegetable plants). The main families were Fabaceae (14 species), Astéraceae (13) and Lamiaceae (12). The most commonly used flowers were white (50% of the species) and yellow (26%). The food collected on the flowers by the bees was pollen and nectar together (54 species, which were more visited), pollen alone (51) or nectar alone (2). For a good production of honey it would be necessary to protect this habitat against the strong human pressures.
