Theobjectiveofthisworkwasstudythegrowthcurvesinguineapigs,maleandfemale.Forthis,thecapacityofadjustmentoffourmodelswasevaluated(Brody,VonBertalanffy,GompertzandLogísticmodels).Toevaluatethecapacityofadjustmentofthemodelstodataofgrowthofguineapigsofdifferentsex,wereusedtheweighttothebirth,14,30,56and84days.Theparameterswereestimatedbythegeneralizedleastsquaresmethodusingnonlinearregressionmodelswithautocorrelatederrors.Modelswerecomparedbyusingsomeindicatorsofgoodnessfitandbiologicalinterpretationofparameters.nbsp;Allthemodelspresentedsimilarvaluesforindicatorsofgoodnessfit,indicatingthattheycanbeusedindistinctlytodescribethegrowthofguineapigs.
