The following material comes from a presentation at the American Library Association’s Annualconference held on June 27, 2010 in Washington, DC entitled “Communication at theCrossroads: The Theory and Practice of Connecting Effectively Within and Without theOrganization.” It was sponsored by the Library and Leadership Association’s LibraryOrganization and Management Section. My part of this program involved a focused discussionon internal communication and various theories as they might apply to this type ofcommunication in the library workplace.
