Thetransformationofdatesatindustrialscale,generatebytheprocessingagrofood(pasteofdates,vinegar,syrup)atsmallorlargescalestonesaswasteoftransformation.Thisstudyaimstoevaluatethechemicalcompositionofthesestonesforincorporationinanimalfeed.Forthis,weproceededtochemicalanalysisofdatesstonesbelongingtotwentycultivarsinsouth-eastofAlgeria.Theanalysisfocusedonratesofdrymatter,crudeprotein,crudefiberandneutraldetergentfiberasadequatemethods.Thestatisticalresultsrevealedahighlysignificantdifferencebetweenstonesofthetwentyvarieties.Therateofdrymatterisveryhigh(up93%)andfiber(NDF)reachedthe92%suggestgrindingmodeofpresentationofthefood.Theexcessivewealthofstonesoncrudefiber(max19%)limitsitsinclusioninrationsforruminantsbecauseitlimitsthedigestibilityoftheration.Datestonescanbeusedinanimalfeedofproductivezones,andespeciallyforruminantsthattendtoenhancecellulosicfoodbutatlimitedrates.
