Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of acupoint application and TDP special electromagnetic waves therapy on maternal gastrointestinal function after caesarean section. Methods A total of 160 puerperae with caesarean section were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, with 80 cases in each group. Both two groups received routine treatment and postpartum care on maternal gastrointestinal function. The acupoint application and TDP special electromagnetic waves therapy were carried out in the treatment group. The time to borborygmus recovery, anal exsufflation and defecation, as well as incidence of abdominal distension and pain, were compared between two groups. Results The proportion of puerperae with time to borborygmus recovery, anal exsufflation and defecation less than 24 hours were higher in the treatment group than those in the control group(P0.05). the incidence of abdominal distension and pain was 5.00%(4/80)in the treatment group and was 16.25%(13/80)in the control group, with a significant difference(P0.05). The overall efficacy rate of nursing intervention on gastrointestinal function was higher in the treatment group than that of controls(95.00% vs. 83.75%, P0.05). Conclusion Acupoint application and TDP special electromagnetic waves therapy can improve the rehabilitation of maternal gastrointestinal function after caesarean section.
