:Objective To explore the effect of points-based assessment and statistical process control(SPC)on core competence of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)nursing among nurses. Methods 〓Totally 200 newly recruited nurses were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 100 cases in each group. The routine teaching methods were adopted in the control group, and a combined management by using points-based assessment and SPC was carried out in the observation group. The assessment scores and satisfactory degree with teaching methods were compared between two groups. Results 〓The qualified rates of theory test and clinical practice were higher in the observation group than those in the control group(92.00% vs. 71.00%, P0.05; 93.00% vs. 75.00%, P0.05). There were more nurses satisfied with the teaching method in the observation group than that in the control group(91.00% vs. 60.00%, P0.05). Conclusion 〓The points-based assessment combined and SPC makes clinical training more systematic and comprehensive, which, in turn, improves the training quality of newly recruited nurses
