Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of core competence training in risk management of junior nurses from operation room. Methods A total of 80 junior nurses from operation room were randomly divided into the control group and the study group, with 40 cases in each group. Both two groups received risk management and core competence training was applied in the study group additionally. The nursing skills, first aid, safety management, disinfection and isolation, theoretical knowledge was evaluated after intervention. The incidence of nursing adverse events was compared between two groups. Results Nursing staffs in the study group achieved higher score of nursing skills, first aid, safety management, disinfection and isolation, theoretical knowledge compared with those in the control group(P0.05). The incidence of nursing adverse events was 5.00%(2/40)in the study group and was 15.00%(6/40)in the control group, but with no significant difference(P0.05). Conclusion The application of core competence training can improve the skills of junior nurses from operation room and reduce the risk of nursing adverse events.
