Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of preoperative education with Flash animation on the uncertainty in illness among the patients with percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI). Methods A total of 100 patients with PCI were extracted by convenience sampling method, and were divided into experimental group and control group, with 50 cases in each group. Both two groups received the routine health guidance implemented by nurses, while an additional Flash animationbased education was added to the experimental group. Both groups of patients were investigated with Mishel uncertainty in illness scale (MUIS, Chinese version) before surgery. Results The MUIS scores of patients in the experimental group was lower than that of patients in the control group, with a significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion The conventional education combined with information support by Flash animation can reduce the uncertainty of the disease in patients with PCI.
