Aute renal cortical necrosis (ACN) is an uncommon but often catastrophic cause of acute kidneyinjury (AKI). Although the exact incidence of ACN isunknown, it is reported to account for 1% to 2% of allcases of AKI in developed countries.1 Commonly, ACNoccurs as a result of catastrophic obstetric complications. We describe an unusual case of AKI due to renalcortical necrosis attributed to N-methylamphetamine(“crystal meth”) use.
