Thispaperemphasizestheimportanceoftheethnographicalmethodinanthropologyasasourceofdata,communication,andinterpretations.Somebasiccontentsandprocessesinthelearningprocessduringfieldworkaretransferabletoothersituations.Itisduetotheimportanceattributedtoverbalandnonverbalcommunication,expressions,meanings,aswellastothesetofrulesandobligationsgeneratedintheprocessofgivingandreceivinginformationandknowledge.ExamplescomefromfieldresearchinGuam,Palau(Micronesia),aswellasfromtheanalysisofaneventrelatedtobertsolaritza:averbalpracticeofcreativeimprovisationinEuskara(Basquelanguage).Theeventisanalysedfromtheframeworkoffeministanthropology.
