Adoption of E-Government Services Among Citizens in the Selected Districts of Tanzania

The government of Tanzania has been making efforts to provide its information and services through the use of information and communication technology. However, e-government adoption has been quite slow. Few studies explore e-government adoption in Tanzanian context; therefore, the purpose of this paper is to assess factors that influence citizen adoption of e-government in Tanzania. A multiple linear regression analysis was performed to assess the relationship between the independent variables (trust, intention to use, relative advantage, image, compatibility, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and social influence) with the dependent variable e-government adoption (net benefit). The results indicate that social influence determines adoption of e-government in Tanzania.
