Linear error compensation methods mainly used compensated projections and coordenates acquisition for poligons area calculation were: (1) poligons sides compensation, directiy measured on terrain; (2) natural projections calculated with measured distances an sine and cosine of courses or azimuthes. The purpose of our study was quantify differences on calculated area by two linear error compensation method and to compare with JORDAN's critério (1957) values for wavy landscape. Use doesn't show which is the most correct method. However differences between calculated area by both methods are a lot of lower área error values tolerable. Poligons areas results demonstrated two different compensation methods can be used accord Topographic standartized critério.
