T HE structure of the Medical Library Service of the University of Wisconsin is outlined below in some detail, because it has been in operation for many years and the practical details of management may be helpful to other agencies. It is essentially a service to practitioners, although research projects in hospitals (particularly the VA hospitals), in Wisconsin's colleges, and in industry also benefit, and some service is offered to laymen.
