The authors have appropriate credentials to compile this book. One is a physician, one a medical librarian, and one an administrative assistant- all at the American Medical Center at Denver, Colorado. But is another such book really needed? The preface states that the use of abbreviations in the fields of medicine and nursing has been rapidly increasing. This book must therefore meet a need that similar, older books do not, in order to be worthwhile.
