Florida Atlantic University, College of Engineering, Banquet Hall and Food Service Venue

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) required a food-service venue and banquet hall to accommodate the needs of alumni, students and the community. To meet the program requirements, the architect designed a two-story, 8,809-square-foot interior build-out inside the four-story College of Engineering building. Situated on the first floor are Outtakes, a high-end food retailer; Chick-N-Grill, a restaurant; and a dining area. On the second floor, the architect designed a banquet hall with a multipurpose kitchen to accommodate different events such as faculty dinners, on-campus catering, weddings and seminars. Because of the unique character and design elements used, the space can be used separately or together depending on an event's requirements.
