The entire strategic frame-work in the Eastern Mediterranean is undergoing a substantial change, particularly regarding relations between Turkey and Greece, the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, and Israel. But the change will also affect how NATO — and particularly the US and UK — projects power and intelligence collection assets into the Levant and the Middle East, and is of particular concern for Western coverage of the tentatively-dormant crisis in Lebanon.
