The military establishment can often be said to be a contradiction when looking at its approaches and functions. Historical military structures and their embedded ethos have changed little in years, decades or even centuries. Rank structures, central values, and even uniforms can look very similar over time.rnYet, while maintaining such consistencies and upholding traditions, the military needs to constantly evolve and embrace change to maintain an advantage over the enemy. This can mean changing tactics, equipment, and training techniques.
