Difficulty with carpets

Following recent National Audit Office and Public Accounts Committee enquiries into the management of the defence estate, further difficulties in managing areas such as housing have been reported. One recent example is that it emerged 700 defence homes stood empty for months due to a lack of carpets not provided for under the maintenance and repair prime contract with MODern Housing Solutions (MHS). In advance of national press reports, this was discussed in the summer edition of Defence Management Journal.
