Nations across the world have mostly abolished conscription-based military service and switched over to voluntary forces. This is a part of the constant drive towards transforming the armed forces into highly professional and trained units, where strength in numbers doesn't count anymore but what matters is having troops equipped with cutting-edge weapons, implementing force multiplication by increasingly networking them and, most importantly, training soldiers effectively for mission success.
