The MoD's Defence Industrial Strategy and follow-on initiatives have resulted in significant shifts from the traditional customer-supplier format to more innovative approaches that promise improved value for money in an atmosphere of cooperation. This philosophy has encompassed the vast majority of the MoD's interests, including the provision of leading-edge technological and scientific R&D to cost-effectively supply UK forces with battle-winning equipment, now and in future.
