Debate all you like about capability shortfalls, job losses, and programme cancellations; at least we can all agree that with the Coalition Government there will be stability at last at the top of the MoD - a point the new Defence Secretary Philip Hammond reiterated in his speech to SSAFA on 24th October. Consistency of purpose was the message, "ambitious programme of renewal" and "vision of retrenchment" the themes.
