The future of the British Army's dismounted soldier is today being shaped through the work of the Integrated Soldier System Executive (ISSE), part of the Individual Capability Group at DE&S. DMJ has charted the progress of the Executive's work in past editions, and in the first of two articles, continues the coverage by presenting a series of questions to Team Leader Marcus Bruton, who explains how the ISSE is working to transform the dismounted soldier into a soldier systems enabler: combining combat, network communications and situational awareness capabilities in a single man-wearable architecture.
