In December, after an eight month procurement process, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation took a significant step towards engaging a Strategic Business Partner by issuing an Invitation to Negotiate to three shortlisted teams. The invitation, said DIO, 'provides a robust platform to effectively explore the use of private sector expertise. However, a contract will only be awarded if it can be found to provide value for money to the MoD and the taxpayer.'
