Hisense USA has launched the 4K ULED (Ultra LED) H10 series curved smart TV in a 65-inch screen size, making it available for at just under $3,000 at Amazon.com to ship this month. The company said it will be positioning the set and an additional 55-inch model, also available at under $1,300, as competitors to both LG's OLED sets and to Samsung's SUHD sets, but at lower price points. At the same time as the product rollout, the company addressed its acquisition this summer of Sharp's TV business. Peter Erd-man, vice president of sales, said 2016 will usher in a "dual-brand strategy" for Hisense, which is licensing the Sharp name and has bought a Sharp TV North American production facility. "This means we'll be able to supply more ULED, Hisense and Sharp prod- ucts," he said. The arrangement with Sharp is effective in early January 2016, he said, adding that new Sharp products are being discussed now and may be announced at the end of January.
