Beverage ingredients suppliers are moving into the world of the fruit-vegetable combination, while equipment manufacturers want to provide dairy processors with total solutions. The world has moved on in beverages. No longer do suppliers just provide automated lines, they provide total solutions for bottlers' needs. And the ingredients in the beverages are more exotic as well Peach-orange-tomato is just one of the permutations for drinkable dairy products being offered by ingredients suppliers. These were all seen at Drinktec, the once every four years event in Munich, which saw over 70,000 visitors from around the globe come together to see the latest in beverage equipment and raw materials. Just a few examples are presented here. Krones had a hall to itself to exhibit various aspects of its beverage systems, including dairy applications. The focus of the hall was the Think Tower, which presented a virtual world and its control centre, representing the transition for Krones into a "holistic complete-system vendor and problem-solving partner." Ten keynote topics were exhibited in the multi-media area in the Think Tower.
