The Antonio Federici high-end ice cream brand is set for launch in the UK in three flavours inspired by the Italian connoisseur Federici, who was still whipping his own ice cream aged 102 years. His grandsons, Frank and Philip, have worked to recreate the Pistacchio, Panna Cotta and Cianduia (chocolate and hazelnut) gelati.rnEach scoop is blended in Italian tradition using fresh double cream. Each flavour has a smooth, chewy texture. Cianduia is a blend of chocolate, hazel-rnnuts and fresh double cream, finished with soft cocoa and buttery notes. Panna Cotta is the traditional after-dinner dessert, made with fresh double cream, exhibiting vanilla overtones with a hint of caramel. Pistacchio is a blend of Italian pistachios, rich double cream and has a smooth nutty finish. The three flavours from Antonio Federici are on sale for ￡3.99 (€4.26) exclusively at 315 Sainsbury stores across the UK. The range will soon be augmented with summer sorbettos and winter ice cream flavours.
