The focus for the EDA's dairy policy conference in Brussels, Belgium was the future of the European Union dairy landscape, Michel Nalet, the EDA president, reminded the assembled. It was held in Scotland House, just across the road from where the European Commission sits. Indeed, with a collection of attendees from the EU27, the EDA seemed in fine form. The seats all had reserved signs on them, which caused a bit of confusion until it was revealed that they were reserved for "those who believe in Europe" and a reminder for everyone to vote in the upcoming May elections. "This is very important for the EU and for the European lactosphere, as it will provide the political and institutional framework that we need to operate in," Nalet reminded the assembled.
