Editorial (Hot Topic: Ductal Carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the Breast, Biomarkers, Diagnosis, and Treatment of the Disease)

摘要

The incidence of ductal carcinoma in-situ (DCIS) has been steadily increasing recently largely due to the more advancednage of our population, implementation of the mammogram screening program and technological improvements in diagnosticnmammography. Although it has been known to be a potential cancer precursor for a long time, more and more studies havenshown that not all DCIS are alike and DCIS are highly heterogeneous lesions with variable radiographic and histologic morphologynand biologic behavior.
