This year's results are not as good as we would have hoped as the improvements noted last year have gone into reverse with one major and a higher number of more than 3 day injuries. 36 members have supplied their statistics, which continues last years improvement. It is very good news that once again there have been no fatalities amongst RIDBA Members. This year 36 members provided their statistics against 34 last year, with the total number of direct employees and subcontractors increasing by 22% to 1153rnThe RIDBA accident rate per 100,000 workers has increased for major injuries but is still well below the national average for construction work. It also increased for the 3 day injury with this result well above the national average, since this is an area where the HSE is aware that there is a lot of underreporting, we hope that our relatively high figure is caused by the honesty of members, but this does not avoid the fact that we musty work hard to try and reduce these figures.
