Recently, a pretty significant change has taken place with the Association's certification process. 'Exam on Demand' (EOD), the process in which any group of five or more certification exam candidates who have agreed on a date, time, and location to take any of AACE International's certification exams, has been suspended. What once was considered an excellent example of the Association's innovative approach to providing more benefits to its members has, it appears, become a victim of its own successes, as well as a few misuses of the process.rnIt is one of those good news, bad news circumstances. In the past five or six years, the Association has experienced membership and certification growth like it had never seen in the previous 50 years. As an example of our certification program's success, as late as 2004, there were just barely over 1,000 people carrying an AACE International certification, however, in 2008 alone, over 1,300 people took a certification exam, with approximately 430 applications sitting for an exam on the December 2008 test date.
