PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device, method and program for marking an answer which can attain a description type answer and a selection type answer by realizing the simultaneous marking of multiple answers and can perform a lot of markings without restricting a form of an answer sheet.;SOLUTION: The answer marking processing device has a separation program 12 for cutting answer image data by every answer column to generate separate answer image data based on preliminarily registered separation position information using answer image data to which reading identification information of an image scanner is attached as an object for marking processing, a recognition program 16 for recognizing an answer image in cut answer image data, a marking extraction program 22 for attaching score information of data in which recognized data corresponds to correct answers and data other than it to each piece of data from a recognition file and a correct answer file, a tallying program 30 for computing the total marking by every piece of identification information by collecting extracted files by every answer column by every piece of identification information and an output means 32 for displaying a tally file tallied by the tallying program 30 on a display with the identification information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
