The U.S. coking coal market hasn’t completely shut down for the holidays, but it’s in what most would call a deep winter slumber. “There’s a little activity with some buyers trying to get 2020 sorted, or at least Q1 before everyone breaks for the holidays,” a producer source said. “Kardemir (Turkey) was out for a tender, but with their lowsulfur requirements, I’m not sure how much (U.S.) participation there was.”
