Wartime Female Slavery: Enslavement?

The onlooker who stares into the eyes of the female slave often catches a splintered or fractured image of slavery. The trafficked female, the female domestic slave, the female sexual slave, and the female forced spouse all contend with layers of ownership not readily conceptualized as the crime against humanity of enslavement. The questions, "who is a slave?" and "what does a female slave do?" remain susceptible to indelible mispercep-tions. International criminal law must rename and identify the shards comprising wartime female slavery.
