The Consulting-Specifying Engineer 2015 Electrical and Power Study indicated that 42% of engineers specify, design, or make product selections for data centers-and 83% of these engineers determine requirements/ write specifications, 75% research and evaluate options, and 68% recommend the product brand. Below are five high-level findings impacting the electrical and power industries today as they relate to data center projects: 1. Annual specified products value: The average firm specifies $4,028,455 in total electrical or power systems for new and existing data centers on a yearly basis. Forty-six percent of these firms specify more than $5 million in electrical or power systems.
