According to figures from the Office for National Statistics, the education sector was worth £7.6 billion during calendar year 2009.Forecasts from the Construction Products Association see the sector falling in size by 28 per cent between 2009 and 2014.The CPA forecasts the sector will be worth £5.5bn in 2014.The education sector has been the subject of much news during the past six months, given the scrapping of the £55bn Building Schools for the Future programme.Despite its cancellation, the education sector's capital budget is still much larger than in several other departments and a large volume of work will still go ahead.
