DOCKYARD TRAGEDY

A driver has died after the crane he was operating fell at a dockyard at Tilbury Docks in Essex. The driver, who was in his 40s, died from his injuries at the site after he fell from his cabin when the crane collapsed last week. A spokesman from the Port of Tilbury said: "Everyone is deeply saddened by the death of a colleague and our thoughts are with his family. An investigation is currently being undertaken by the HSE and the police. The port is fully co-operating with the investigation and will facilitate any request from HSE to meet with safety representatives as appropriate."
