Four line up for £600m Northern Line extension

Four teams are believed to have been shortlisted for the £600m contract to build the Northern Line extension to Battersea. Transport for London declined to confirm the names when contacted by Construction News, but sources confirmed that four teams are in the running for the deal. Bechtel/Strabag 3.Costain/Sir Robert McAlpine 4.Laing O'Rourke/Ferrovial It is believed up to six teams had been bidding for the scheme, with a Morgan Sindall/Vinci joint venture among them. The work includes around 3,300 m of new tunnels, including over-run tunnels and ventilation shafts, as well as new stations at Nine Elms and Battersea.
