Boris Johnson challenged on Heathrow stance

Boris Johnson has implied he may soften his opposition to expansion of Heathrow if he becomes prime minister, according to reports. At a hustings organised by the Conservative Party's 1922 Committee last week, Greg Hands, an MP who resigned from the government to vote against the third runway last year, asked Mr Johnson if he would cancel the scheme should he become prime minister. Mr Johnson gave an ambiguous response, according to The Times, and said the expansion had been approved by Parliament.
